Q1: Does the UV process change the taste of my drinking water?

A1: No, disinfection by UV is a physical process and not a chemical process. UV will no change the taste and odor of drinking water.

Q2: Does UV work on all microorganisms?

A2: UV does have an effect on all microorganisms to some effect. The important issue here is that one should ensure that the UV system they are purchasing delivers enough UV dose at the end of the lamp life to ensure adequate disinfection against a typical array of organisms

Q3: Once I install my UV, do I need to continue the bacteriological testing?

A3:It is important to continue to test your water to ensure everything is working as intended.

Q4: Does UV need any pre-treatment?

A4: Yes. The minimum pre-treatment that is recommended is the installation of a 5 micron prefilter in front of the UV system.

Q5: How long do the UV lamps last?

A5: Agua Topone's low pressure and low pressure, high-output lamps have a rated service life of 8,000 hours or approximately one year of continuous use.
