If the treatment is not timely, it may also cause precancerous lesions, such as the more common skin cancer or cataracts. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light.

In addition, we must also understand that exposure to the ultraviolet sterilizer lamp in a short period of time will also have a certain degree of impact on the body, which will lead to the appearance of electrophthalmitis.
After the occurrence of such diseases, patients often have symptoms such as red and swollen eyes, dry eyes, and tears. In severe cases, it will cause some damage to eyesight. Under normal circumstances, exposure to ultraviolet light for 30-60 minutes can lead to the development of electrophthalmitis, which is caused by the corneal epithelial cells and conjunctival tissues absorbing large amounts of ultraviolet light.
This kind of disease caused by ultraviolet radiation generally has an incubation period, and it can develop within 6 to 8 hours after irradiation. Therefore, hospital emergency rooms often receive such patients in the middle of the night.
