If water leaves a ring around the tub and leaves a film of soap scum on the shower walls, does that make you want to take a shower? How do you feel when you turn on your shower and experience a loss of water pressure due to scale buildup in the pipes? And appliances, how does your water affect them?
Hard water is the culprit behind all the mess above, and it also shortens the life and efficiency of everyday appliances like coffee makers, dishwashers, and hot water tanks. The plumbing fixtures will become dull and scale will build up on the outside. Descaling is necessary because it saves you time in maintaining your home and keeps your household water cleaner.
If you are looking for a solution to water hardness and how it affects your home, you may have come across an electric descaler versus a non-electric descaler, what is the difference?
What is an Electric Water Descaler?
An electric water descaler, also known as an electronic water conditioner or anti scale system, is a device designed to reduce or prevent scale buildup in water systems.
How does it work?
The electric water descaler is installed on the incoming water pipe, usually near the main water supply point. It contains coils or electrodes that generate an electromagnetic field around the pipe. When water passes through the electromagnetic field, it induces a change in the behavior of minerals, primarily calcium and magnesium ions. This way, you don't need to add any salt and the water is safe to drink. The altered minerals remain in suspension, which means they do not adhere to surfaces like pipes, faucets, or appliances. Since the mineral particles are no longer adhering, scale no longer builds up in your pipes or appliances, the water comes out clean and you no longer see thick scale. Your tub will be free of a greasy film and your showerhead will stay clean after every shower.
What is a Non-electric Water Descaler?
A non-electric water descaler, also known as a non-electric hard water conditioner or non-electric anti scale system, is a water treatment device used to solve limescale buildup without the need for electricity or ongoing maintenance. Non-electric water descalers use a physical process to remove limescale.
How does it works?
The non-electric water descaler uses IPSE chip technology. IPSE anti-scaling and descaling material is a special material, which is made of various metal elements through high-temperature smelting. A columnar crystal structure with consistent orientation and alignment is formed inside the material. The IPSE turbine chip generates swirling flow, which increases the effective contact area between the water flow and the IPSE ion polarization system, and releases micro-current to improve the anti-scaling effect. When the water flow washes the chip, free electrons will be generated, and the free electrons will move together with the water flow. This movement is directional movement (water flow is fixed), and the directional movement of free electrons generates a weak current, which makes the hardened marble structure scale layer become loose and porous aragonite structure scale layer, which gradually dissolves and falls off. It falls off with the washing of water to achieve the purpose of descaling.
Non-electric water descalers do not rely on electricity, are therefore very energy efficient, and do not require a power connection or constant power consumption. This system usually requires minimal maintenance.
