Second-Level Purification: UVC LED Water Sterilizer For Safer Water Protection

Today, we are excited to introduce our new star product, the AGLED-40012. Unlike traditional UV ultraviolet sterilizers, this product uses UVC LED lights for water disinfection. One of the biggest highlights that sets it apart is that UVC LED lights completely eliminate mercury emissions, and there are no harmful substances generated during operation.

UVC LED differ from traditional low-pressure mercury lamps in terms of the wavelengths they release. LED are monochromatic and are designed for specific wavelengths, with a tolerance of ±5 nm. The most common commercial UVC LED wavelength is 275 nm, known as deep ultraviolet, but LED with wavelengths of 265 nm and 255 nm are also available on the market. The unit cost per optical power for a 275 nm LED is higher, making it more efficient than the 265 nm LED at the same cost. Like other LED light sources, UVC LED reach their maximum power instantly when turned on, and they can be switched on and off almost infinitely. In contrast, ordinary ultraviolet mercury lamps require a warm-up period to start emitting UV light and reach maximum efficiency. As a result, UV lamps are typically on for most of the day, and when water is flowing through the system, this inevitably leads to water being heated. Therefore, UVC LED are particularly well-suited for applications that require intermittent water flow, such as kitchens, coffee machines, and water dispensers in whole-house environments.

Another notable feature is the lifespan. Since UVC LED are highly suitable for and commonly used in environments that require intermittent operation, LED have a much longer installation and operational lifespan compared to UV lamps. One of the additional benefits of this intermittent operation capability is the potential for significantly lower power consumption. In high-flow applications, UVC LED still need further efficiency improvements to match the performance of UV lamps. However, their flexibility, instant response, compact size, mercury-free design, and monochromatic characteristics make them more suitable for small to medium flow applications.
