U.S. Ski & Snowboard Installs UV Light System For Indoor Olympic Training

Biosafety technology company R-Zero has added its UV light system to U.S. Ski and Snowboard’s training facility in Park City, Utah. The machine disperses ultraviolet light to sanitize air and surfaces, aiming to reduce the spread of viruses such as COVID-19 while U.S. athletes train for the winter Olympics.

U.S. Ski and Snowboard’s Utah facility currently has four of R-Zero’s Arc unitsinstalled in its weight room, physical therapy rooms, performance lab, and practice area. Each unit stands roughly six and-a-half feet tall, with up to eight UV light system. Later this month, U.S. Ski and Snowboard will ship two units to Beijing as the team prepares to train for the Games that start in February.

“Health and performance are a priority—not just for our athletes but for our staff. R-Zero’s Arc adds a safe, highly effective, and sustainable way we can ensure we’re reducing risks in all spaces and for all parts of the organization,” Gillian Bower, director of high performance at U.S. Ski & Snowboard, said in a statement.
