Low Pressure UV Sterilizers And Medium Pressure UV Sterilizers

Medium pressure UV lamps have some important differences compared to the more widely known low pressure UV lamps,which are the main reasons for choosing a medium pressure UV system:

Some applications may require the use of medium pressure UV lamps because they emit a wide range of wavelengths.These applications include:


In public swimming pools, the odor of chloramines (combined chlorine) and chlorine can be effectively eliminated only by emitting ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 200 to 4oonm.


2. Two other important reasons for using medium pressure UV lamp technology are:


1) In order to reduce the footprint of the installation,the Auxiliary Lamp has greatly reduced the size of the UV reactor.

2) Due to the higher power of single-woven medium-pressure UV lamps,the number of UV lamps used is greatly reduced.

3) The medium pressure UV lamp can withstand higher pressure and a wider temperature range,so it is suitable for higher pressure and stricter use environments (BEST UV can withstand pressure up to 16 kg,resistant to 100 degrees high temperature).


2.About the introduction of low voltage (LP) lamps:


(1) Characteristics of low pressure UV lamps

Some important differences between low pressure (LP) UV lamps compared to medium pressure UV lamps :


1.The power of a single lamp is low (the power of the lamp is lower than 320w)

2.Sterilization efficiency, compared with medium-pressure lamps, the sterilization time is longer (low pressure is zero to a few seconds,less than - seconds)

3.With the increase of wattage,the low pressure (LP) UV lamp has a longer time

4.The length of the reactor should be set according to the number of lamps and the length of the lamps for the needs of larger capacity UV reactors.Therefore,a low-voltage UV system with a slightly higher power takes up more space.

5. Low pressure UV lamps can only emit wavelengths of 254nm.


(2)Some applications using low pressure UV lamps are mainly due to:


1.Low capacity and low power requirements, especially in the field of water purification.

2.Frequent opening and closing operation requirements,medium-voltage UV is generally managed by a central controller,and there is delay protection for opening and closing. Therefore,it cannot be turned on and off frequently.

3.Low pressure UV lamp,the conversion efficiency of the lamp is high,up to 40% of the power is converted into sterilization energy, and the 254nm wavelength disinfection effect is more targeted for bacteria and viruses.
